How to empower your people to own their careers​

I recently had the pleasure of hosting some legends of people & culture, learning and development, brand marketing, and more, for roundtable sessions exploring “How to empower your people to own their careers”.​

We explored broader market challenges, with the group citing:​

  1. Talent shortages (90%)​
  2. Mental health & wellbeing (73%)​
  3. Economic uncertainty (45%), as impacting their organisations,​

Together with internal barriers, including:​

  • ❌ Lack of progression opportunities​
  • ❌ Minimal budgets & resources​
  • ❌ Lack of leaders’ focus – capacity or capability​

We celebrated the magic when you get it right, through metrics like​

  • ✔ Higher retention​
  • ✔ Increased engagement​
  • ✔ Increased capability and performance​

And the group walked away with some new ideas:​

  • 💡Self-assessment activities to highlight transferable skills & strengths​
